Early Spring Late Night Park Walk (Hurrah for longer days)!
It's so lovely that we're starting to get a few not so freezing cold nights a week where it's light until past bedtimes, so we can stroll through the park and look for new spring nests and say goodnight to the ducks.

March Visitor
Grandpa Phil came to visit, and Gus took him to the zoo, naturally. Grandpa was lucky to witness Gus' first time on a horse (finally tall enough, at long last), as well as Gus' tantrum when we had to take him off of the horse--so we predict a summer of horse riding. Grandpa was entertained more by Gus than the zoo, even if the zoo has such riveting entertainment like brushing goats.

Art Museum Exhibit of the Brooklyn Museum of Art's Egyptian Collection (mummies! gold!)
We couldn't actually take pictures of the mummies and gold, but they had a room for kids to try on mummy stuff after. Also, we went to the exhibit for a famous Columbus artist who was also a barber and they had set up his old shop, including the chair, for kids. It will be a while before Gus is sitting in a barber's chair, so we practiced a little.

Happy Birthday Old Dada!
For Dada's birthday, Gus took him to the Antarctica Explorers exhibit at the science museum which included crazy thermal tents, anti-snow blind goggles and other gear you could try on. There were even live sled dog exhibitions! However, Gus had already seen a whole cadre of sled dogs before in a truck in the Safeway parking lot in Port Angeles who were on their way to a competition, so you don't need fancy science museums for everything. In the last picture, another red-headed boy kindly and sweetly played with Gus for almost an hour. They created an installation in the pixilator. Sort of cool how in the science museum you can get a glimpse into your future.
