Gus Sez: Scroll wa-a-a-y down for lotsa posts (sorry to keep you waiting)!

And drop us an email at rumposinc@gmail.com for our new contact information!

Columbus at last

We've been here about a week, and you'll have to watch for upcoming posts about living in our neighborhood, German Village (and Gus' new love for sauerkraut and pickled vegetables), unpacking, navigating the biggest college campus in North America, and our newly urban baby.

Loved ones along the way

Because of a late start, we took a shorter, northern route (with the opportunity to see Gus' great grandma Eleanor, his paternal uncle Josh, and godfather Allen) vs. a longer, southern route where we missed out seeing friends and their little boys (soon! We were sad to miss you Alan, Emily, Cooper, Parker, Michael, Kristen, Karen, Nick, Susan and Troy!)

We were so grateful to see Gus' great grandmother (Matt's paternal grandma). This last Saturday afternoon, Eleanor passed away, and that she was able to visit with Gus again (who has so much fun with her), was so, so wonderful. We will miss Grandma so much--it means a great deal that we gained her good wishes for our new adventure. Eleanor was a dear and loving grandma and a super fun great grandma.

Antics from the LONG road (LOONNG road. Ohio is far.)

From top:
*Baby. Check. Dog head. Check.
*Giving a hug to his backseat buddy, "Heavy Baby."
*On the road, you have to be resourceful and wily. Here, Matt changes an enormous poopy diaper (we spared you the graphic photos) in the front seat on a remote road in the middle of Montana. Mary Ann was instantly set upon by vicious biting insects and itched all the way to the eastern time zone.
*Better get comfortable, Gus.
*Stretching our legs in one of the big middle-ish states.
*Get this child some sunglasses already!
*Like any road trip, there were moments of soul-weariness.
*This is when, out of boredom and creative programming, he pulled every single wipe out of the box.
*Feeding his backseat buddy, "Heavy Baby."

A stuffed Volvo and a whole LOT of beautiful country

OH AITCH EYE OH

Big changes at Rumpos Inc.! After a beautiful and productive six years by the sea, Matt (inspired by Gus), decided to accept an offer to get his PhD at the Ohio State University. An amazing program with lots of resources, Matt is excited to be able to use his knowledge of ancient Greek for more than confusing Mary Ann when he has taught Gus completely different names and phrases for common household items and events. More updates on the rest of the trio to come! Goodbye little house on the peninsula. We will so miss our friends and beaches.

Seventeen Months! (about a month late)

Blueberries anyone?

Adorable Baby Donkey Sez: Scroll down for lots of posts!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately! There's lots going on at the House of Gus, which will be revealed, here, in time. Meanwhile, catch up a bit below!

9 to 5

Gus comes to work with Mama at the office sometimes. He tackles complex office equipment, like clipboards and sticky labels, then does a little filing.

Fruit and Vegetables

Who needs toys when there is corn to shuck and bananas to peel? And note, the arrangement of banana peels on his head was his own doing and not staged--hair envy?

County Fair

From top:
*Baaa!
*Oink! (that's a shadow on his head, not a bonk)
*His favorite--the dog agility trials
*That baby donkey had the softest fur we've ever felt.
*Hair! (smeared with sunscreen because these redheads burn fast)
